Frequently Asked Questions

EXOSKELETON GENERAL ENQUIRIES

I. Product Overview

What is the FX-E7 exoskeleton?

The FX-E7 is an ultra-lightweight, smart lumbar exoskeleton that primarily provides assistance to the hip joint. It can recognize various walking and running gaits, learn the user’s gait pattern, and adjust its assistance in real time.

Who is the target population?

Suitable for individuals who do not require assistance and can walk continuously at a speed of at least 1 meter per second (about 3.6 kilometers per hour). Particularly ideal for users who wish to reduce fatigue and improve walking efficiency during outdoor and daily activities.

Is the FX-E7 very heavy? Will wearing it for long periods put pressure on the body, and could it cause fatigue?

Weighing only 1.3 kg net, the FX-E7 is a world leader in its class. All wearable components feature soft, skin-friendly fabrics designed to minimize pressure and friction.

Is it complicated to wear this exoskeleton, and does it require assistance from others?

The device consists of two main parts—the straps and the main unit—which connect via buckles. With just a brief tutorial, anyone can learn to don the device without assistance in just 10 seconds.

How does this exoskeleton help with walking?

Powered by joint motors and adaptive leg rods, the FX-E7 drives hip articulation and thigh lifting to assist walking. This effectively reduces muscle exertion, making every step more effortless.

II. Working Principle & Technical Features

How does it work?

By sensing movements through a built-in angle sensor and an inertial measurement unit (IMU), the AI system predicts walking intentions and controls the motor’s output torque, providing either assistance or resistance depending on the selected mode.

Is it suitable for all body types?

The FX-E7 adjustable structure fits approximately 90% of adults and is available in three sizes—S, M, and L—corresponding to different waist circumference ranges. If you have any questions, please contact the official team for size recommendations.

III. Batteries & Battery Life

How long does the battery last?

Equipped with a high-density ternary lithium battery and combined with a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS), it can provide an additional 20 kilometers of range. At the lowest gear setting, a single battery can operate for approximately 7 hours under real-world conditions, and battery replacement is convenient.

IV. Model Comparison & Protection Levels

How is the waterproof performance?

IP54-rated protection: dust-proof and splash-proof, suitable for outdoor use under normal conditions. However, it is not recommended to use in heavy rain or submerge in water.

V. Use Cases & Safety

Is it suitable for medical use?

The FX-E7 is a non-medical device and does not have any medical therapeutic effects. If you have issues related to bones, muscles, or the nervous system, it is recommended that you consult a doctor. This device cannot assist in maintaining balance; users with limited balance capabilities should use it with caution.
Primarily intended for adults who can walk independently and maintain their balance, this product helps reduce lower-limb muscle fatigue caused by prolonged walking.

What are the available work modes?

· Follow-up mode: Outputs corresponding assistance based on walking status.
· Assistance Mode: Provides walking assistance to enhance walking efficiency; Boost Mode delivers maximum power instantly.
· Training mode: Simulates the effect of walking in water, strengthens hip muscles, and helps control speed and protect the knees when going downhill.

Is human health and safety guaranteed?

Assist mode helps reduce muscle strain and lower heart rate; resistance mode can minimize joint impact. The device has undergone rigorous testing, ensuring safe and reliable use.

Exoskeleton Troubleshooting Guide

I. Power-On and Startup Issues

The exoskeleton won’t turn on — how can this be resolved?

a. Make sure the battery is fully charged.
b. Press the control button once and check whether the status LED light illuminates to indicate the remaining battery level.
c. Press the button again and quickly hold it down for 2 seconds to start the device.
d. If the device still fails to power on, please record a video of the issue and contact technical support.

What does it mean when all four status LEDs flash orange upon power-on?

a. Indicates that automatic wear detection has failed.
b. If it occurs immediately after startup, please reattach the device correctly (refer to the user manual) and ensure that all steps have been completed.
c. If an issue occurs during operation and the strap is already fastened, please record a video and contact technical support.

What does it mean when all four status LED lights are flashing red?

a. Indicates a device error.
b. Please connect to the Tendex app and tap the message icon in the upper-right corner to view the specific error code.
c. If multiple LED modes are flashing alternately, refer to the user manual for interpretation and send the error message to technical support.

II. Battery and Charging Issues

The battery drains too quickly — how can I fix this?

a. Connect to the Tendex app, go to the settings page, and disable “Hill-Start Assist” and “Low-Speed Stability Control” (this may slightly increase power consumption).
b. Switch to Eco mode and walk at approximately 4 km/h for 20 minutes. A battery level drop of about 5% is normal.
c. Battery performance is affected by the usage scenario (e.g., continuous uphill driving, high-temperature environments); please refer to the battery maintenance section in the service manual.
d. If the test results are abnormal, please contact technical support.

The battery cannot be charged at all — how can this be resolved?

a. If the battery is stored for a long period, please install it in the device and charge it.
b. Check whether the charging port is clean and whether the pins are intact.
c. Use the included USB-C cable, making sure the cable is intact and fully inserted.
d. Try swapping the outlet or power source for a cross-test.
e. If the LED light does not turn on after connecting the charger, disconnect and reconnect it.
f. If the issue still cannot be resolved, please record a video and contact technical support.

What should I do if the battery cannot be fully charged?

a. Connect to the Tendex app and ensure that the firmware has been updated to the latest version.
b. Use a 65W charger to charge for more than 2 hours and check whether the device can fully charge.
c. If the issue persists, please contact technical support.

III. Connection and Operation Issues

What should I do if I can’t connect to the mobile device?

a. Make sure the Bluetooth on your mobile device is enabled, and the exoskeleton’s status LED is flashing blue (indicating it’s searching).
b. In the mobile device settings, delete all pairing records for the Tendex exoskeleton.
c. Restart your phone, uninstall and reinstall the Tendex app, and grant it GPS and Bluetooth permissions.
d. By using the external skeletal connection instead of the phone’s Bluetooth settings page.
e. Try cross-testing with another phone.
f. If the issue still cannot be resolved, please record a video and contact technical support.

What should I do if the power assistance suddenly stops working during operation?

a. Connect to the Tendex app and ensure that the firmware has been updated to the latest version.
b. After re-wearing the device correctly, try again.
c. If the issue persists, please record a video and contact technical support.

IV. Usage and Maintenance Tips

Is it normal for the status LED light to turn white during operation?

a. Normal. After the control button remains idle for 10 seconds, the LED light automatically switches to display the battery level.
b. Press the button once or move your leg, and the LED light will display the current operating mode.

What should I do if the motor overheats?

a. Motor heating is normal (due to high-frequency operation); extreme environments (>30℃, deserts, direct sunlight) will exacerbate this phenomenon.
b. If you feel uncomfortable, connect to the Tendex app, go to the settings page, and set “Thermal Protection Control” to the maximum.
c. Adjust the hip lever tube so that there is at least 1 centimeter of space between the motor and the hip bone, avoiding direct contact and improving heat dissipation.
